MEET WALLACE A WELL SEASONED BLUE FRONT AMAZON NEEDS HIS FOREVER HOME

Wallace was hatched on 06/13/1998. He was DNA Sexed Male on 08/07/98. Wallace escaped outdoors in 2000 and was gone June, July and August. His owner got a call one day, stating they believed her missing parrot was in their crabapple tree. He was caught with a net and brought back home. Unfortunately Wallace was a much different bird upon his return and with busy family and life schedules there just wasn't enough time available to work fully on the human desocialization that occurred. Wallace's parronts are by no means bad parronts as they know he needs more time and attention then they could give him. We promised them we would find a wonderful exceptional parront that will love him as much as they do.
He whistles the beggining line to Mary had a little lamb, and he also says redrum, close the door, here kitty kitty kitty, good morning Wallace, how are you and hello. He's use to Kay Tee Exact orignal Pellets mixed with some seed. Pizza, mac and cheese, sketti, french fries, mashed potatos, fresh green beans, chicken, crabapples (go figure), peeled apples, grapes cut in half, bananas, strawberries, kiwi, we're told he's fond of. He likes his fruit made into fruit kabobs. He likes some scritches through the bars of his cage.
Wallace will need a lot of nurturing and someone who is willing to devote the time to him. I think with a lot of patience, love and time Wallace will make a wonderful companion.
ADOPTION/REHOMING
THROUGH COFOAF
I would like to take a minute and explain our policy here at COFOAF regarding Adoption/rehoming:
First and foremost, we do not support breeding. There are so many birds out there that are in need of forever homes, due to life changing events in many people lives. We would love to facilitate and help with this. But to insure that this meet up group doesn’t turn into a BIRD WANTED or BIRDS FOR SALE site, we would like to set a few ground rules in order to rehome your loved ones here on this site .
If you no longer feel you can properly care for your bird and are considering giving him or her up, please email the Organizers with the details of the rehome. (ie. Bird, reason for rehoming, about the bird, pictures of the bird, bird's behavior, health issues, diet, with or without cage, rehoming fee) Please be truthful about your description of your bird(s), as we do not want to endanger anyone. There are many bird owners out there experienced to handle birds with behavioral or aggression issues, so don't feel this is something you should not disclose. Again, we are more concerned with the best interest and quality of life your bird will receive in a forever home.
We, of course, would prefer that our birds never have to leave their current homes, but we understand some circumstances warrant the need to rehome. The information you provide will help us to determine the needs of your bird(s) and the most caring and stable environment for its future forever home.
At that point, the Organizers of COFOAF will review the information provided, to insure we feel that it is a legitimate rehome.
Next, we will post the information to the group, and any inquiries will go through the Organizers and forwarded to the birds PARONTS.
Please note, as we are about finding the best possible future forever home for these feathered friends, you agree to complete a questionnaire that may be provided to you and will be forwarded to the bird paronts; and that home visits may be requested prior to any adoption. Any information obtained from the home visits will also be forwarded to the birds paronts. By submitting your interest in a potential adoption, you are agreeing to these terms.
Once all contact is set, we will allow open communications between the two parties.
We never want to NOT help a bird and its paronts. We just want to make sure people have the best interest of the bird and really just want to find the bird a great and stable forever home.
We understand reasonable adoption fees, and through this site we have a lot of great birdy paronts. If you want to facilitate your own adoption please use the many other sites out there that are available to you.
As facilitators for the adoption we are not saying that the owner has to adopt to any person that we send that is interested. That is up to the owner and the potential new paront. We are just making sure that there are no breeders and mass sales of birds on this site.
From time to time, the Organizers may be requested to foster birds for its current owners, or from rescues, surrenders, or other adoptions, until suitable homes are found. As we will then become the primary caretakers of these feathery ones, all decisions regarding their future homes will be made by the Organizers. In this case, to be considered for an adoption, you must be a current and active member in COFOAF.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to email us. We will make it a point to get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks
Christi & Viki
